Holiday Recycling Information
Now that the gifts are unwrapped, what can be recycled and what goes in the garbage? Learn what your recycling options are for your Christmas tree, gift wrapping and other packaging materials with these guidelines:
Christmas trees:

You can recycle your Christmas trees for free at the Knott Landfill Recycling Center and all of our rural transfer stations through Jan. 31, 2017. Please be sure remove all decorations, lights and the stand.
Packaging materials:

Wrapping paper/gift tissue: Wrapping paper and gift tissue is accepted for free at all of our facilities if it doesn't have metallic foil or glitter.

Gift boxes: Cardboard is accepted for free at all of our facilities.

Bubble wrap/packing peanuts: We do not accept packing peanuts or styrofoam packing, plastic bags, plastic film or plastic clamshell packaging for recycling.
