The Department of Community Justice is a vital component of Deschutes County’s public safety system. The department provides supervision and treatment resources to at-risk and delinquent youth and their families and adult offenders.
Our mission is to keep the community safe by providing interventions that address the underlying issues of crime and work to prevent individuals from re-offending. By empowering evidence-based practices and looking at data to see if what we are doing works, we ensure that resources provided to the department result in effective correctional services.
Responsible for the supervision of adult criminal offenders residing in Deschutes County.
Balanced consideration of community protection, offender accountability and competency development bring clarity and reason to juvenile justice issues.
