Funds Available for Transportation Services to Seniors and People With Disabilities

The Deschutes County Department of Administrative Services announces an opportunity for eligible transportation providers to apply for Federal Section 5310 funds.  A total of $1,166,381 will be allocated by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for projects located in Deschutes County.  Applications for funding must be submitted to and reviewed by Deschutes County, but will ultimately be approved by ODOT.

Successful grant applications will be funded for projects which take place during the 2015-17 biennium.  Projects supporting transportation services for seniors and people with disabilities qualify for grant funding; however, eligible applicants must also offer transportation services to the general public.  Application forms and instructions are available at the ODOT Public Transit Division web site: https://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/PT/PROGRAMS/5310DiscretionaryBusApplicationInstructions2016.pdf

An additional checklist of applicant criteria and copies of the Deschutes County Coordinated Human Services Plan for use in developing applications can be requested by sending an email to judithu@deschutes.org. 

Applications must be submitted electronically to judithu@deschutes.org and received no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 11, 2015.  Late applications will not be reviewed or considered.
