County Clerk's Offices to begin processing passport applications again

Beginning Thursday, April 1, Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties will begin accepting applications for US Passports by appointment only. Appointments can be scheduled online through the below websites:

Amended Notice of Election - Redmond School District 2J District Board Position No. 4 – Filing Deadline

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, an election will be held to fill a newly-vacated position on the Redmond School District Board. The position holder for Position No. 4, resigned on Wednesday, March 17. The term for Position No. 4 ends in 2023.

Candidates who are interested in applying to fill the vacant position must file a declaration of candidacy or petition for nomination for office with the Deschutes County Clerk by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 26. The Voters’ Pamphlet Deadline is also Friday, March 26 at 5 p.m.

Elected Deschutes County officials to be sworn in on Monday, Jan. 4

Elected Deschutes County officials will be sworn into office at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, at the First Interstate Bank Center at the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center.

Three elected officeholders are scheduled to attend the ceremony and take the oath of office, which will be administered by the Honorable Wells Ashby, Presiding Judge for the Deschutes County Circuit Court.

Deschutes County certifies Nov. 3 General Election results

Deschutes County Clerk Nancy Blankenship has certified the County’s Nov. 3 General Election results and forwarded final results to the State.

Since Election Day on Nov. 3, elections staff has been adjudicating ballots to determine voter intent, counting votes, documenting votes for one “no candidate filed” race, contacting voters with signature challenges and curing signature challenges so that all votes are counted.

85.28% of the 150,696 eligible Deschutes County voters returned ballots.

Deschutes County Clerk outlines upcoming public certification

Deschutes County Clerk Nancy Blankenship wanted to share information for the November 3 General Election:

Thursday, October 22:

The Clerk’s Office will test the County’s vote-counting system at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22. The certification is conducted before each election and occurs at the County Clerk’s office, 1300 NW Wall Street, Bend, upper level. Due to COVID-19, space will be limited for public observation. Please RSVP in advance if you plan to attend.
