Weekly Road Construction Update - Feb. 15 to Feb. 21

Projects Administered by Deschutes County:

Tumalo Reservoir Road Improvement (Bend Area) – Crews will be clearing and grubbing vegetation and doing excavation work on Tumalo Reservoir Road. They will also be doing utility work on Tumalo Reservoir Road between Johnson Road and Sisemore Road.

Traffic Information – Tumalo Reservoir Road is closed to traffic between Sisemore Road and Tyler Road. A signed detour route is in place. Access for local traffic will be maintained. On other areas of Tumalo Reservoir Road, road users should anticipate lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Old Bend-Redmond Highway Vegetation Management (Bend & Redmond Areas) – Crews will be doing roadside vegetation trimming and removal on Old Bend-Redmond Highway and S Canal Boulevard.

Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

S Century Drive/Huntington Road Intersection Improvement (La Pine Area) – No work will be occurring this week.

Traffic Information – Road users should continue to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone. The intersection is now controlled by an all-way stop, and a temporary speed limit of 25 MPH is in place.

Projects Administered by Other Agencies:

Bear Creek Road Closure (City of Bend) – Bear Creek Road will be closed to traffic between Dantili Way and the irrigation canal crossing to the east.

Traffic Information – A full road closure with signed detour will be in place through early April.

Inquiries pertaining to this work should be directed to the City of Bend Transportation and Mobility Department website.

Redmond Wetlands Complex (City of Redmond) – Crews will be doing sewer utility work on NW Pershall Way, and in off-highway areas along Northwest Way and NW Coyner Avenue.

Traffic Information – There will be single-lane closures facilitated by a temporary traffic signal on NW Pershall Way. Road users should expect delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours.

U.S. 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Crews may be working on 11th Street and C Avenue.

Traffic Information –  11th Street between Smith Rock Way and C Avenue will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Signed detour routes are in place. C Avenue remains closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Lower Bridge Way and Odem Avenue are open allowing only right-in, right-out traffic movements. Traffic bound for U.S. 97 North will continue to use the signed detour route along NW 19th Street and NW Davidson Way. There is a temporary speed limit of 45 MPH in place on NW 19th Street.

China Hat Road & FS Road 1815 Closure (US Forest Service) – China Hat Road and Forest Service Road 1815 are both closed at the USFS Boundary for forest thinning work.

Traffic Information – China Hat Road and FS Road 1815 are closed to all traffic at the end of County maintenance. Access to the area is closed until further notice.

Other Road Impacts:

Cascade Lakes Highway Closure – Cascade Lakes Highway from Crescent Cutoff Road to FS Road 4270, and Mt. Bachelor to FS Road 4270 will remain closed until Deschutes County Road crews can remove the snow that accumulates over the winter and early spring, typically by Memorial Day, weather permitting.

Paulina Lake Road Closure – Paulina Lake Road east of Ten Mile Sno-Park will remain closed until Deschutes County Road crews can remove the snow that accumulates over the winter and early spring, typically by Memorial Day, weather permitting.
