Weekly Road Construction Update - Nov. 3 to Nov. 9
Projects Administered by Deschutes County:
Hamehook Road Bridge Replacement (Bend Area) – Crews will be doing earthwork at the Hamehook Road Bridge east of Deschutes Market Road.
Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Hamby Road School Zone Improvements (Bend Area) – Crews will be installing signs on Hamby Road between Neff Road and Paloma Drive.
Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway. Intermittent single-lane closures, facilitated by flaggers may also cause delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Lazy River Drive Mailbox Turnout Improvements (La Pine Area) – Crews will be doing pavement work on Lazy River Drive near South Century Drive.
Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate single-lane closures, facilitated by flaggers with delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Projects Administered by Other Agencies:
U.S. 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Crews will be doing sewer installation and excavation work on Smith Rock Way between 11th Street and 16th Street. They may also be doing pavement work along 11th Street.
Traffic Information – Beginning Nov. 4, Smith Rock Way will be closed to traffic. Road users should use the following detour routes:
- Northbound traffic should use NE 1st Street, NE Wilcox Avenue, NE 9th Street, NE Cayuse Avenue, NE 5th Street, NW Eby Avenue and U.S. 97.
- Southbound traffic should use NE 1st Street, NE 5th Street, OR 370 (Oneil Highway) and U.S. 97.
Access for local traffic will be maintained during construction. Road users may also encounter single-lane closures, facilitated by flaggers along 11th Street and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours.
