The Drinking Water Program administers and enforces drinking water quality standards for the 175 public water systems within Deschutes County.
Private Well Safety Program
The Private Well Safety Program goals are to raise awareness of private water well supplies and promote drinking water safety. We can provide technical assistance, and in the future, offer free water sampling to eligible participants.
Deschutes County's Environmental Health Specialists inspect over 250 public pools and spas in the County bi-annually. These inspections emphasize safety and disease prevention.
